comments on industries and companies worldwide, as reported
in the UK national press and a range of quality business
magazines. Every significant daily and Sunday newspaper,
business magazine and periodical is indexed.

Research Index is in two sections:
- The Company Index is arranged alphabetically by
company name, with individual references to a company
arranged in date order. The index currently covers in
excess of 10,000 UK and major international companies
.
- The Industry Index covers the industrial and commercial
news and reports not dealing with a specific company. It
is divided into over 300 subject headings arranged
alphabetically.
Under each heading the individual references are by date
order. Each reference in the index shows:
- The industry heading or company name
- A brief description of the contents of the article
- The newspaper , magazine or periodical in which the
item appeared
- The date of publication
- The page number
With its database expanding at a rate of over 5,000 entries
per fortnight, this comprehensive guide to the national
papers and major business periodicals extends to
approximately 140,000 references per annum.
The Research Index has been published fortnightly since 1965.
The on-line edition contains the references for the preceding
fourteen months and is updated twice weekly.
